January 3, 2015 ODI IS ON MY MIND ALWAYS. WHAT ABOUT YOU? My Distinguished Ijaw Brothers and Sisters, First, let me start this clarion call by saying, Happy New Year to us. Now, I will proceed by asking us this question, do we still recall that our historic Ijaw town/community Odi was openly destroyed/decimated in November 1999 by President Obasanjo( Rtd General) during his first tenure in office?. I know that some of us do, but others might have forgotten the event or werent born then or too young to remember what happened in Odi To this date, no government in power has called Obasanjo to book, either in Nigeria or world court in Hague to question him on the crime that he deliberately committed a serious crime against humanity in which over 4000 innocent/harmless Ijaw men, women, children, frail old ijaw men/women were killed, homes burned down, properties and livelihood destroyed beyond human imagination and the entire community displaced out-rightly. Inspite of the callous crime that was done to us(Ijaws), OBJ is still walking tall in Nigeria/around the world and now parading himself as a saint/messiah to fight corruption in Nigeria and Africa while he continues to enjoy his stolen wealth from our soil from 1976-2011. My dear Ijaw brethren, why must we continue to watch OBJ get away with the mass murder of our people? History will not forgive all of us if we fall to act against OBJ and the Nigerian government. Lets us borrow a leaf from the Ogoni group(MOSOP) to address our case which is very serious. For the time to act is now(and not tomorrow). Because time is of the essence for us. Let us as a people begin to discuss/brainstorm among ourselves on what action(s) that we need to take on this matter. Pelede Egberifa. Sir Boston Edogi
