January 3, 2015 Todays Challenge Genesis 7:1 - 10:32 Remember: 1. Read the suggested passages every day. 2. Find a verse or verse that hold special meaning for you in that day. 3. Praise God and pray for others in light to the Scripture you covered. 4. Reflect on the passages meaning and possibly journal a few ideas that God might be sharing with you. Todays Reflection: Noah did All that God commanded. Never once do we see Noah questioning God, as some others were known to do in the Bible. But not Noah. Those of you with children will know how often our children will do what their told without question or conversation over the event. Not very often. But when they do, it makes life so much easier for all concerned. Noah obviously understood that his generation was a violent generation, he lived it. However, he also knew that God was in control and that it was God who was to be obeyed. So he did all that God commanded him to do. Let us think on this today and reflect on what God might be asking us to do with our lives. Some things we know for certain, as Gods Word points a way for us to walk. But other ways might not be so explicitly spelled out. Let us think on the rain that God brought into Noahs life - here again, we see God asking his people to go into a hostile world and forge ahead, to keep going. I can imagine that every time Noah saw rain after that, he remembered when it rained the first time and how devastating it was. Let us recall to mind the humbleness Noah must have felt and the aloneness knowing that they were to repopulate the world. God might not be asking us to do that, but God does ask us to walk in paths that are way outside our comfort zone. As we begin reading Gods Word this season, let us remember those who have gone ahead and forged onward through very difficult times. God was with them, God is with us. Amen and Amen!!! The words of Remember When it Rained are a good reflection of Noah. Listen and reflect. Remember When It Rained Song by Josh Groban Wash away the thoughts inside That keep my mind away from you No more love and no more pride And thoughts are all I have to do Ooo ooh, remember when it rained I felt the ground and looked up high and called your name Ooo ooh, remember when it rained In the darkness I remain Tears of hope run down my skin Tears for you that will not dry They magnify the one within And let the outside slowly die Ooo ooh, remember when it rained I felt the ground and looked up high and called your name Ooo ooh, remember when it rained In the water I remain Running down Running down Running down Running down Running down Running down Running down Ahh ahh ahh na na Na na na Ohh ohh ahh na na Running down https://youtube/watch?v=S3bEU70R1Yo
