January 7, 2015 C-shift Box 0592 In the early morning hours, units from the 5th & 6th Battalions plus the Alexandria FD were alerted to a house fire in the Elmwood Manor subdivision of Fairfax County. Engine 411 arrived first on scene with fire on the Delta side of a single story, single family home. The side involved with fire also contained the power meter and the overhead house service. With all occupants reported out of the house, Engine and Rescue 11 entered the home and did discover that there was fire in the attic space. Searches proved to be negative. Ceilings were opened up. With the interior fire extinguished, crews had to wait for Dominion Power to secure the electricity to the home to extinguish the exterior portion of the fire. After further extinguishment and overhaul, command began to release units. Great work by all those on the fire ground. As usual, good to work with the fellas from Company 5 and the neighboring city units.
