January Player Spotlight--#14 Courtney Wikan Wikan (Waukon) is a second-year utility player for the Knights. Wikan believes that her time on the softball team has allowed her to become a better person and leader because she has learned how to take the viewpoints of others into consideration and respect everyones opinions, even if they differ from her own. With this she says, It has helped me build teamwork and leadership skills. This will allow her to not only better herself on and off the field, but hopefully her teammates as well. Wikans favorite memory from the 2014 Knight’s softball season was the spring trip to Ft. Meyers, Fla. in March. She says that is when she became the closest with her teammates because they really came together and worked as one. Wikans goals for the 2015 softball season are to stay mentally tough and focused throughout the season and to also make the IIAC Conference tournament. Courtney is a biology major with an emphasis in Pre-Dental.
