January us upon us and as much as I do not wish to mention the word snow it is important to put out a few reminders for safety. I have also posted the snow emergency plan for the Township . A quick 10 reminders for winter 2015. 1. Make sure your garden hoses are disconnected and hose bibs are turned off from inside . 2. Have your heater checked for proper ventilating and exhaust to guard against carbon min oxide a silent killer. 3. Have a flash lite and batteries available in case the power goes out. 4. Get out your shovels and purchase some calcium chloride and keep accessible . 5. Get to know your school code for school cancelation or late notices or early dismissals . 6. Have arrangements for child care if school is closed, late arrival Ora early dismissal. 7. Know where the nearest bus , trolley or train stop is in case you should need public transportation. Get the necessary schedual so off line or at the stations. 8. To assist the township see if a inlet is located near your home or a crossing for children and help us keep that area clear at all times of snow and ice. 9. Tough topic but blocking parking spots and /or throwing snow into the street is prohibited in the township. Be courteous and aware or others . 10.
