Japan Trip Day 6 Our day began at Yoyogi park as we took in the morning sights of the greenery, yellowy and browny-y of the autumn gardens.. to Candida Hos dismay, the forest didnt have the same oak scent she liked so much from last yr, but this time round, we got to see the Kiyomasa Well, as well as more bridal processions at the Meiji Jingumae, where weddings and children blessings were held.. We headed next to Harajuku to walk ard the shopping area, and man was it crowded today (a sunday after all).. Had a decent lunch at a Japanese Pasta place, and then went to the Kiddy Land (sanrio and other cute character stuff sold there) and the Onitsuka Tiger shoes outlet, which Hammie Taru wanted to check out.. After that, I brought us to Gallery 2 in Shibuya, as is my usual practice, to look for basketball gear.. Bought 2 pairs of Asics bball shoes, which u cant find outside of Japan.. Candi bought some souvenirs and enjoyed returning to her favourite Shibuya crossing too.. though short, it was romantic.. =) Next stop was to go to Tokyo Tower.. We missed the sunset timing but arrived just in time to experience a short snowfall coming from the night sky! The snow was a bit pellet-like, not flakes, and gave a mood for the orangey lights of the tower.. we only went to the main observation deck, not the higher 1, and got a nice night view of the city.. we may try to go to Metropolitan Buildings observation deck tmr to catch an even better view of the city.. (as recommended by some websites, which discouraged going to the Skytree which was a lot more expensive, with a longer waiting time) After yet another day of delayed eating at late hrs, at Wei Lee Keks recommendation, we went to Tokyo Stations Ramen Street at 8 pm plus, and queued for abt 40 mins for its famed Rokurinsha tsukamen noodles! (have to walk in quite deep to Daimaru, near the yaesu south exit) This noodle place has the longest waiting lines out of the 8 ramen restaurants, and it was well worth the wait.. u dip the thick noodles in a very thick, rich broth and then slurp it up, a bit like soba.. the taste was exquisite and had quite a diff feel from usual ramen.. the chashu pork was also totemo oiishi~ ughh.. tastes just TOO gd.. wonder if theres any gd tsukamen noodles place back home in Sg.. Tmr, we embark upon Candis fav place of all: the Studio Ghibli museum~!! seriouseats/2012/05/navigating-tokyo-ramen-street-first-avenue-tokyo-station-japan-rokurinsha.html
