Jarred was staring over the railing over the massive ship, looking at the deep waters. The wind was calm, and the moon was brightly shining above them, as usual. Where is the land? We must get away from this Unholy Sea... he thought to himself as he stared intensely into the horizon. There was no land in sight, just the glistening silver of the moon reflecting on the water. “Jared, where are you?” he heard Victoria, her soft voice sounded like she was in distress. He turned in her direction. “Victoria, Im here... Can you not see me?” he called out to her. “No, I cannot...” she said desperately. “Hold me in your arms; they give me strength. I am so weak from hunger...” “Come here my love.” she said, ushering him to come to her. “Let me look into your eyes, they are the only green I have seen in centuries...” Jarred began walking slowly towards her, and he slowly walked into her open embrace. She looked up at him and his cat-like eyes flashed in the moonlight. “There are the eyes,” she said brushing a soft lock of hair away from her face, “that I fell in love with so many years ago.” Victorias solumn face brightened, as he came closer, and he smiled at her warmly. “Was it just my eyes, that you fell in love with? All of these years I thought it had something to do with me.” he whispered playfully. He then grinned. “Have I become a foolish King, my Queen?” he asked her. “Never. You are a foolish man, because you know I am just joking. You are a warrior, and my only lover.” she said, tossing back a warm smile. “Hold me closer, it is freezing up here. And I must ask you something...” she added quietly. “What is it?” he said to her softly. He could feel her happiness begin to fade in the energies around them. Her heart was sinking. “Jarred,” she said looking up at him, her eyes screaming sadness. “Do you feel that we will finally bare a child? A healthy child? I am so frightened,” she said, beginning to have hot tears form in her eyes, “I am afraid that after the loss of our other children, something will take them from us again. If that happens, I dont know if I will make it... The pain of losing another child might cause my demise. I will die of a broken heart.” “Victoria,” he said, grabbing her shoulders and staring into her vibrant eyes intently. “I have faith that this child will be born, and he will be strong, like his father. He will grow and become a great warrior to us all.” he said. “You mean she.” Victoria quietly interrupted. Jarred furrowed his brows and stared at her for a moment.” “She?” he asked softly. “Why do you say that?” “Even as strong as you are, you are still a man, and a very great Vampire warrior. I love you with my entire soul, but being a man, and I a woman, I know things, and I feel things about our child that you do not. I feel with my soul that this child, is a she.” she said, holding her belly contently. She had a smile that brightened their dark world when she held the unborn baby between her soft belly and embracing arms. “I even have a name,” she said quickly, “but if you do not fancy it, I will change it.” Jarred smiled and moved her hair from her face again. “Tell me her name, my love.” he said softly. “Arielle. I would like to name her Arielle.” she said. “If you dislike it we can change it right away.” “No, my love.” he said, his unbeating heart warming inside his chest, “I love it.” Their love warmed his insides, so much so he could no longer feel the icy night against his skin.
