Jason Jones just sent me this pic of me at the helm of The Best on the Ucayali River in Peru during the Amazon Express paddling expedition for National Geographic Magazine. This was our home for one month on the river. The Ucayali eventually becomes the Amazon near Iquitos. Bought that boat in Pucalpa and its now sitting in Iquitos. Also bought that 18hp peke peke Honda motor. Top speed, maybe 10 mph. Strung up our Grand Trunk Goods for the Road jungle hammocks inside the boat to sleep on the riverbank every night.
