Jay D Alexander Letter to the National Catholic Reporter: I hope to walk the halls of Congress with some of you and other volunteers on May 12th through the 15th as a concerned citizen and president of a new non profit Civilian conservation Corps Initiative. I plan to make arrangements to advocate for the re-establishment of a 21st United States Civilian Conservation Corps. If you dont know since 2009, we currently have a stand alone piece of legislation calling for an all-public sector environmental public works program used in the Roosevelt Administration. HR 188 is sponsored by the Honorable Marcy Kaptur D-OH. This program should be a mid-term campaign issue with the advent of rapid climate change, and our western forests are burning, etc ...we need low tech workers to plant trees and high tech workers to train to install and maintain solar panels and wind turbines on our public and private lands proto, and the USA can lead the way to other countries to create CCCs in their lands before the tipping point arrives, or face the second coming. I am looking for volunteers and donations to help in travel for those who wish to join our organization to meet with and even speak to members of Congress on this bill.
