Jazz Rasool: Stand in a river looking upstream. This is like your minds experience of Time. Standing in a river, looking upstream, the water moves towards you, and you can either move forwards against the stream or stay where you are and let it come to you. Like the water that flows towards you, Time is no different. Some say Time flows from the Past into your Future. Isnt Upstream the Past? No. Where do new experiences come from? Not from your past but from the arrival of the Future into the Present. If you held a bucket out against the stream it would fill with fresh water and so, as you hold your consciousness against the stream of Time from the Future, your mind is filled with fresh, new experiences. Life comes into you apparently from the Future. Now imagine you are not in a river but the Ocean. Where do rivers flow from? All directions of the compass, not just the Future. In fact what evaporates from your ocean becomes those Rivers of Time. When you stop standing in your River of Time and allow yourself to be taken to the Ocean you will experience Timelessness and Immortality. Estragon: When same metaphor -river/ocean- is applied to knowing/knowledge, the arrogance & hubris reflecting the [human] purveyors of these living imprints of time/timelessness/immortality .. are astounding! Jazz Rasool: How to move from standing in the river of time into the ocean of timelessness? (1) Its a presence thing. It comes from clearing your Past and the backlog of lessons it contains so none are left unapplied towards your emerging wisdom. (2) It is also about engaging your talents and responsibilities so that the future is attended to before it becomes your past. (3) As a consequence of doing these two housekeeping duties for your past and future, the Present remains uncluttered and clear enough for your fee will to actually be free enough to follow through on your intent that unfolds from the present moment. As you midwife each moment with all of your free will so the moment expands from a drop of time into an ocean and the flow of time becomes an ocean.
