Jean-Marc Louis Delbecq, age 51, of Santa Clara, died Monday, August 12, 2013. He was born to Andre and Kitty Delbecq, March 4, 1962, in Toledo, OH. Jean-Marc graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in 1980 in Kent, OH, and received a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Toledo in 1986. He married Lisabeth Kuzma in 1986, and they moved to Santa Clara, CA the same year. Jean-Marc was an engineer, and worked for the Silicon Valley tech firms Motorola and Hewlett Packard, and was a long-time employee of payment systems company, Verifone. He was passionate about his work in payment systems, and held patents in point of sale systems and radio frequency transponders. Jean-Marc was a competent manager, and spoke fondly of the many employees with whom he worked. Jean-Marc was an avid fan of motorcycles and proudly endorsed his red Ducati ST4 motorcycle. In addition to motorcycle riding he enjoyed watching soccer from the top world leagues. He was a proud father who stayed involved with his kids’ many extracurricular activities including soccer and music. Jean-Marc is survived by three children: Jean-Luc Laurent Delbecq of Santa Clara, CA; Mireille Adrienne Delbecq of San Jose, CA; and Maxim Etienne Delbecq of Alhambra, CA. He is also survived by his sister, Adrienne Delbecq-Backos. A memorial will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday, August 21st, 2013 at the Center for Spiritual Enlightenment: 1146 University Ave., San Jose, CA 95126.
