Jeez, Hackney council really seem to be on a self destruct mission at the mo.. Heres something new: theyre trying to create a control zone in Dalson/S Newington severely limiting opening hours of both new premises and reapplications for current licences. The late night culture of this part of town is what gives it its unique and vibrant character, and the recent increase in licensed premises (including music venues, only place where theyre opening!) has only added to the dare I say it, organic (sorry) nature of Dalston/S Newington.. Every time you walk down the street you stumble across some new place to try, and stifling such growth seems (to me) to be a silly idea.. If youre a Hackney resident, or a regular visitor, why not take 5mins to take a look?
