Jeff Moriarty - I have the best wake-up system for Dani! I will give you Euro for a couple weeks. The dog will wake Dani up EVERY morning by 5:45 a.m. without fail using the tried and true system she has implemented in our house. First, she beats her tail against the adobe and cement wall that is two feet from my head. Right next to my ear, each morning I hear what sounds like a sledge hammer on cement. This generally happens when I am in that lovely, super deep REM sleep. Then, our dogbert repeats a series of little half jumps in an effort to get on the bed without momentum - she gets about half her body on the bed each time until she puts a bit of effort into the thrust. The weight and impact of her paws and head on the mattress rock the bed as if an earthquake is happening or as if the mattress has been moved to a birthday bounce house. Once Euro makes it onto the bed, she turns and twists to get to a good spot, stepping on me and sometimes Michael along the way - thats 95 pounds of love stepping on a leg or hand or foot. Then the licking commences, whether herself or those occupying the bed. Generally, within another five minutes, a nose in the face forces the favored occupant of the bed (approximately 97 percent of the time that is me) to let her out for a morning of cat chasing, peeing and food. Its not pleasant, Ill give you that, but it does work. Let me know if you want to borrow Euro. I could use some sleep.
