Jeff and I did a lot of traveling together in the early to mid 80s. We covered from Maine to Minnesota to Utah and Colorado. Time has blurred some of the details but one evening, I believe near Hagerstown we stopped at a Bobs Big Boy. Jeffs dinner arrived which included french fries. Jeff felt the ketchup bottle required a good shaking before use, but never checked the status of the lid! After that first shake Jeff had ketchup on his hair, face, shirt and a drop or two on his fries. In classic Jeff tone he says Jeeeesssuss Chrrrist. I look over at the next table with my face slightly decorated also, to see a young kid saying hey mom look at the guy with ketchup on his face! Of course it took a while for the waitress to make her rounds. It took her even longer to come back with the napkins. After all you have to give the rest of the staff time to observe the spectacle! After Jeff cooled down he got a good laugh as well as all our friends whom we shared the story.
