Jeffrey Young 2 hrs · THE SCENARIO..young couple come in with dog they rescued. dog is very pregnant, extremely emaciated, only one vaccine, vomiting and diarrhea for a week..they have 100 dollars..ok we place on fluids overnight, do c-section..8 viable puppies..and we do gastrotomy on mother do to the 5 plastic/rubber nipples in the stomach..the path to hell is paid with good intentions..simply fixing and vaccinating this dog for far less would have been the best thing and the most economical thing to do..yet not done like what we see every day at PPP.. so Nathan Winograd you can believe all you have to do is get an animal in a home and all is well..money is a reality of life and we/you cant save them all..not sure how many the pups will survive but i will do my best to get them vaccinated and fixed prior to the people giving them away..the mom, who knows may still die, absolutely no body reserves.mans best friend, well with friends like that who needs enemies..i know theses people care and just dont have resources and are not educated about animal care..where is the humane societies and the vet profession..oh, i know there is no money with theses people so why help...sorry we have a long way to go before we help the companion animals of the poor the way we at least try to help the poor people..we live in the richest nation on earth we do so little for those truly in need..think about that this christmas and remember christ would be with the poor and needy not the rich and self-rightest..it is always easier to love those close to you and that you should but to truly care for those different or not related or poorer or just in need..that is the real test of being a caring human being..what good is a tradition that does not benefit those most in need..your only obligation in life is to try..lets face it most of us can try harder... Otávia Mello so true! here we suffer everyday because people think taking them out of streets is more important than FIXING and vaccinating too! its a long, hard battle, but we are on the right side since spaying/neutering is the ONLY way to stop suffering! can I translate your message and publish in portuguese, please? 2 hrs · Like Sheriann Bricknell And that is why our small cat rescue will not adopt out an animal that has not been spayed/neutered and vaccinated. Pam Steiner, thank you for helping us accomplish this, and Dr. Young, thank you for all that you do. It is not in vain, even though it seems like it some days. 1 hr · Edited · Like Linda Taal Respect for your work Jeff, we are working in Ayvalik Turkey over the past year we neutered 1200 dogs, most of the straydogs. We also offer free neutering for owned dogs. 37 mins · Like · 1 Write a comment...
