Jennie Vaughanposted to Donna Slimmingworld Jones . I have kept my mouth shut for months now but no more!!!! My autistic son has not been in school since November as he was in a moderate learning difficulties school and it was bot suitable for him anymore so for safety reasons I took him out ov the school nothing against the school as they were fantastic with him but his safety comes 1st. He has been waiting for an asd unit placement to become available. I was told that the LEA was doing everything theu could to get him a placement. Many phone calls later and messages being left and people not returning my calls we finally thought we are making progress as an asd unit placement had been found and Lee could have the placement ov another child who had not attended for months. A meeting was set up with the school and me and my husband was very impressed and was happy for Lee to attend. A student exchange meeting was set up and this went ahead on Tuesday. We told Lee he would be starting his new school soon I phoned today to find out what day he would be starting as again had no contact for the authority to be told that the other boy had returned to school on the Thursday and Lee no longer had a placement never ever had I felt so much like crying in my life. I have bought all ov Lees uniform and had to come home from work and tell my little boy that he cant go to his new school. So here we r back to square one almost 6 months since Lee has had any education or more importantly socialisation with other children, he has become a recluse and barely leaves his room. Thanks NPT I can honestly say I have lost all faith in your system for education for children with special needs. PLEASE CAN EVERYONE ON MY FRIENDS LIST REPOST THIS AND HELP THIS LITTLE BOY WHO IS DESPERATE TO GO TO SCHOOL AND IS BEING IGNORED
