Jennifers Rant for the day: Tattoos on the hand & why they are a bad idea. Why do I believe they are a bad idea? EXPERIENCE :-) I see tattoos day in and day out. Hand tattoos look amazing when they are first tattooed but wait until they heal. The consistent issue with hand/finger tattoos is they do not heal well. The skin on your hand is completely different from the rest of your body. How do you plan on healing this tattoo? It needs more care to heal because of the high chance of losing the ink. You need to keep your hands clean & dry. Think how will I wash the dishes? You cant wear rubber gloves or a bandage. The skin needs to breathe. Going to the toilet? Hmmm just have a think about all the things you do with your hands. You must look after it. You cannot hide your hands. They are there on show for all to see. This can affect your career choices & how you are treated. I do say that unless you have at minimum a sleeve or are heavily tattooed. Think twice before you ink up your hand!
