Jenny Chika Okafor wrote: TRUE OR FALSE??? THIS SECRET MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE BETWEEN APGA AND PDP I could not help but laugh hysterically watching Chaplet/Rosary flashing Obi during that unexplained religious visit to Israel. He is I think the only non PDP governor in the group. He looked as holy as NWEJE and sincere to APGA and Anambra people as Judas Iscariot!! What was the purpose of the visit though? Are they saying that the power of jet flying men and women of God in Nigeria no longer works and higher spirits are required to push for 2015? I wonder why they did not consult me. I would have invited the Pope or opened the Vatican for their final show and celebration of spirituality. Again please forgive me, it’s my travelling mind. I conveniently just like Peter and Victor will take no responsibility whatsoever for this reflex action by my fingers!!! Ask my grandmother why, whenever she shows up in your dreams. Please answer the questions below. Obi and Umeh can as usual deny as much as they like but the evidence is clear. There is a secret marriage of convenience between APGA and PDP. Apart from the lies and pretence by all the parties making supporters look like fools while the pair share and give away the future that belongs to all of us as their personal property; I have no issues with people being tactical and taking advantage of a possible alliance which will rescue Anambra from the clutches of the man many people like but whom I personally resent because of his involvement with the illiterate godfather who threw Anambra into the political quagmire we are in presently . Following the demise of Ojukwu, although there are many Igbos and none igbos who can lead APGA competently, Peter and Victor in their usual obstructive and selfish conniving manners have made no effort whatsoever towards finding such a leader but simply agreed without any formal written consent of members that GEJ is the leader of APGA. I have no issues with GEJ but wonder whether there is any written resolution of the party with a legitimate quorum or majority which gave them the power to sell off the party in that way. This is one of the reasons why I feel that although Nigerians cry change and freedom we are not ready for change. Our actions constantly betray our words. Has any party member or members taken the time to ask these questions or forced the pair to provide that written authority through the courts? I do not think so. We are all perhaps afraid of Victor’s new found wealth and Peter’s ducking and diving connivance with some big shots which may scupper any such attempt. Remember they flexed their muscles and we ended up paying. When two elephants fight the ground suffer. Members of APGA paid in every way but let me rest that case for now. But is there any harm in trying? Remember nothing ventured, nothing gained! Ok let’s agree that we do not bother to ask questions therefore they can do as they like. Good on APGA and Nigeria. The next question then should be; is this alliance fair, just and safe for the best interest of either party? If it is am I unreasonable in expecting GEJ to order his party to withdraw their candidate to avoid depleting APGA votes and help them to retain Anambra, the only state they still have control of just likethey will help him and PDP win 2015? Do not forget, like Ohakim, Okorocha has jumped ship at the risk of Ohakim style comeuppance awaiting him. They are PDP members who lied their way into office as candidates of smaller parties and breached the trust of their people when they jumped ship. In my opinion, this is not a marriage of equals but rather a marriage between selfish people for their advantage and disadvantage of their unfortunate over trusting children, members and supporters of both parties. The alliance gives a very big political advantage to PDP and disadvantages if not damages APGA completely. My reason for this view is that if PDP succeeds in defeating APGA on 16th November that will be the end of APGA and members of APGA will disappear into other parties with those who will die for Obi and Umeh giving their votes to PDP. Obi and Umeh will not be perturbed because their interests are safe and secure. If they do not win then Obi and Umeh will use their residual influence to garner more support for the PDP, consolidate and compliment their strength centrally. In Law there is something called offer and acceptance, for parties to successfully claim breach they do not only have to show offer and acceptance but consideration too. In simple lay terms consideration is something you give in return to secure your position in the agreement. There is certainly a secret offer and acceptance but no consideration so APGA stands to lose. PDP has nothing to lose. I think that Peter and Victor showed total lapse of judgment when they hastily acquiesced to the rendezvous without the formal approval of APGA and it was simply done for personal political Advantage not APGA’s interest. Perhaps senate seat, Adviser, Minister or Ambassador for Peter and continued psychotic intransigent reign of terror and impunity for Victor without interference by anyone. We will soon see. Mind you the failed attempt for Ukachukwu instead of Onyia to run and possibly withdraw at the last minute to pave the way for Obianno or the failed manoeuvre to disqualify Obianno for double registration may have been the name of the game but simple minds like mine did not quite catch the game. I think that for GEJ to enjoy the fruits of this unholy marriage he must seriously consider a last minute written merger of PDP and APGA in Anambra alone purely for the purposes of this election. Otherwise it is going to be a fight to finish to dislodge Ngige from his strong strangle hold on Anambra people and avoid triumphant mocking the PDP and APGA by APC. A lovely elder made me laugh last Saturday when in a satire stile expression of disapproval said that in his days APC cured headaches but this APC looks like headache itself. In my opinion, selfless reasonable leaders acting in the best interest of their party should have sought assurances before entering into that unholy marriage of convenience. Any such well thought agreement albeit secret and illegal will give their little known good man Obianno, mind you Peter’s third best choice (please forgive me but he looks like a scared rabbit on the campaign train and thus looking more and more like Obi’s puppet). I hope that he did not resign his job before this adventure. Well I am watching and waiting for the D day plus the legal actions which will follow. As usual I might be wrong. Who knows?
