Jenny Update: Sorry for the delay, but yesterday Jenny came - TopicsExpress

Jenny Update: Sorry for the delay, but yesterday Jenny came home being released from the hospital. She told me to go back to work, which is a good sign because I went into a status at that point. I have been so far out of it because I am sick with a sinus cold that is literally kicking me down the street, so my apologies for this delay of relaying the info. Jenny has had a few seizures, lapses where she kinda just goes catatonic and spaces out. She says it is much like a nauseating warm feeling that comes over her. What seems like for a long time for her is in actuality about 30-60 seconds. Scary to watch. Officially she has been diagnosed at her Discharge of having Acute stroke, partial seizures, Hypertension and uncontrolled Type 2 Diabetes. She has been prescribed daiy asprin(chewable, more on that later), ibuprofen for pain every 6 hours, 16 units daily of Lantus insulin(before sleep), Lisinopril 5mg daily, nateglinide(Starlix) 3 times daily(60mg tablets), pravastatin 40 mg before bedtime and last but not least, her childrens allergy med. Yest, Childrens allergy med. I make fun of her on this because she says she cant swallow pills and has to take liquids, but the doctors debunked that myth in my presence. It is nothing more than stubbornness, the stubbornness that got her into this by not getting it taken care of years ago. This is a lesson I have learned firsthand. Do not pass over your health. Take care of yourself. No one can do it for you. You have to do it for yourself, no one else. Its not selfish to do this either. These are other misgivings we all hold. She is up and exercising(walking), checking her glucose(a remarkable 155 as of 6:47pm EDT! A NEW TRACK...er...BUNCH BLOOD SUGAR RECORD!! LOL) Next is followup and following. Followup for doctors in Indy, goind to the transition clinic, reading Health Effects of Smoking(yep, she smoked. Now however, that is past tense if she wants me around), adding a blood sugar log on her phone as an app and getting a primary care provider. Her A1C was 12.0%, 7.0% is the goal for most diabetics. She has a long road ahead, but Bobbi is being very on-top of her getting this stuff done, maybe getting some overdue payback for when she was little and the roles were reversed. I cant begin to express into adequate words my appreciation for all of your support these past few days. Jenny and I truly appreciate all of the support. It was a valley of emotion to see Jenny wheeled out on a gurney, me trying to stay strong, then failing horribly...and in public, in front of her family. One thing I can deeply appreciate: She has a great family, supportive so very much in this trial in her life. Brothers and sisters coming together over miles and miles just to make sure she is ok and up and around. It is something I personally miss in my own familys life, kidding that there is no fun in dysfunctional. lol I thank everyone for their support and outreach and I hope to learn more from some of you what is going on with her as well as what I have to look forward for. Today, I am still reeling from the cold that just wont get rid of me, so now, time to hit getting the meds for yours truly. I hope next week is a great one with fights upcoming and fun to be had by all, coming back home to Muncie, Indiana, where my announcing career blossomed in the early years. Lets overlook the bad stuff and hit the good stuff now! Again, thank you, my friends and family, for being there. Your support and prayers and thoughts during this time made the difference. If my arms were big enough, I would group hug all of you at once and lift you of your feet. Thank you for being my friends. Many Thanks, Joe York
