Jenny has been doing well, staying out of the hospital which is really nice for a change! We have little bumps in the road but are managing fine. Our appointment with feeding specialist in Milwaukee was inspiring. Im so thankful to have finally found someone that feels the way we do! Jenny is making progress, for the fact that she was kept nothing by mouth she is doing considerately well. Swallowing, a combination of muscle movements and organization, a reflex we are all born with is very complex for Jenny and will require much time, practice and patience. Jenny has learned to close her mouth after given food by cup or spoon which is incredible after only working on swallowing for 8 weeks. It is hard to tell how much she is actually swallowing but the fact that she is closing her mouth means progress. In order to swallow she has to close her mouth, and that is step one! We are going in to orthopedic and neurology appointment tomorrow.
