Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares The Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Does God plan your life for eternity and then turn you loose to work out His intentions? Gods desire is for a relationship. We get in trouble when we try to get God to tell us if He wants us to be a Christian businessperson, music director, schoolteacher, preacher, or missionary. We want to know if He wants us to serve in our home country or go to Japan or Haiti. God doesnt usually give you a one-time assignment and leave you there forever. Yes, you may be placed in one job in one place for an extended period, but Gods assignments come to you on a daily basis. God calls you to a relationship in which He is Lord--in which you are willing to do and be anything He chooses. If you recognize and follow Him as Lord, He may lead you to do and be things you would never have dreamed of. If you dont, you may lock yourself into a job or an assignment and miss something God wants to do through you. God will never give you an assignment that He is not with you. He is with you always. God is looking for service through your heart. He will equip you with everything you need to accomplish your assignment. The key is obedience! Today is Veterans Day.
