Jeremy Wilson reports for the Telegraph that Arsenal are ready to make an £8m January bid for 21-year-old Ipswich Town left-back Tyrone Mings. He just signed a contract extension till 2017, so Ipswich value him at £10m, but Arsenal are hoping to do a deal just under that. He is a player largely developed by Southampton, leaving in 2009. By signing him, Arsenal will not only have cover for our two very injury-prone left-backs, but also at 6ft3 Wenger could see him covering at centre-back as well. Could be a very astute signing.
