Mrs. Engelbrecht was very articulate and made a well organized presentation. As I listened, I had thoughts of the many things we have heard about how our government and the politicians making the decisions that affect our everyday lives. I imagined what I would be feeling had I been on the receiving end of what she described as her experience. What I would do and how I would cope with it. However, as a voting Democrat, I also was able to equate her statements of how American citizens have been trounced on and denied some of their basic rights simply for political gain and partisanship at the hands of the the other political party. Her description is a disturbing situation and should NEVER happen in America which is supposed to be the freest nation on Earth. It doesnt matter which political party is in the majority. They are supposed to be stewards of the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution. They are the servants of the people and serve at the pleasure of the people. The federal government is the peoples government and it should never be a political partys government nor a special interests government. That is the trend of todays political climate and it will destroy us!!!!!!!
