Jerrys now back at RVH. He arrived back by ambulance from Sunnybrook on Thursday. When I last saw him (Monday) he was looking great. Hes still in bed but his colour was good, and he was off the ventilator and oxygen mask. He had pulled his feeding tube out that morning, and the nurse said the physiotherapist would be checking his swallowing to see when he could start drinking and eating. When I went in yesterday (Tuesday), he was downstairs for a procedure (putting the feeding tube back in, I think?) so unfortunately I wasnt able to visit with him, since I wasnt able to hang around until he returned. Ill be going this afternoon to see him again. Jerry can have visitors – hes in ICU Bed 10. Visiting hours there are 11 to 2 pm, 3 to 7 pm, and 8 to 8:30 pm. If you want to visit, go to the ICU Visitors Waiting Room, pick up the phone and say who you are and that youd like to visit Jerry McDermid, and the nurse should buzz you in (unless Jerrys off somewhere else).
