Jersey Business promotes retail badge of honour - JERSEY Jersey Business is encouraging the Island retailers to equip their staff with the skills to deliver top class customer service. From later this month until early November, Jersey Business will be holding a number of open workshops for up to 100 people from retail outlets across the Island to gain WorldHost Retail Ambassador status. The sessions will be led by Rebecca Cook of Butterfly Training, which holds the licence for WorldHost and WorldHost Retail Ambassador workshops as part of Economic Development’s interim retail development plan (IRDP) activity. The IRDP represents a programme of short and medium term States support designed to assist the Island’s retail sector as it faces challenges from online shopping and global economic conditions. The Interim CEO of Jersey Business said, Eliot Lincoln, said: “Customer service is at the heart of so many businesses in Jersey. We have a retail sector that is facing many challenges but is committed to making the customer experience as valuable as possible. “We want to ensure these businesses are equipped with the right skills and tools to enable them to maximise every opportunity. Our aim is to create a community of retailers who care passionately about customer service, and for Jersey to be known internationally as a customer friendly jurisdiction, with WorldHost accreditation being an important step towards that goal.” The World Host Retail Ambassador workshops will be free to the first 100 people who sign up, which they have to do online by visiting jerseybusiness.je and downloading a nomination form, or these can be collected from Jersey Business at 31 The Parade. People can nominate themselves, or employers can nominate members of staff. Becky Cook of Butterfly Training said, “This is a proven training programme worldwide and it is exciting that Jersey is embracing the learning that can be gained from taking part. Participants will develop the skills to deliver a warm and friendly welcome to customers and visitors and the workshop is particularly focused on their role as an ambassador for their local area.” BAILIWICK EXPRESS JERSEY Report : bit.ly/1vX0ZjI
