Jesses Soundtrack of the Day: All Gone (No Escape) by Gustavo Santaolalla, from #TheLastofUs People often tell me that they did not notice the music in TLoU, and that is a damn shame. When I first heard the main theme in the menu, I knew I was in for a musical treat. Todays theme was featured in an emotionally heavy scene, namely the hospital escape. The weight of the story may have prevented many players from paying attention to this beautiful theme, understandably so. The theme relies mostly on strings to great effect; the double bass really shines, and if you can, give this a listen on a system with LFE or headphones with accurate bass response. The flute entering gently at 1:29 sets the mood for the climax at 2:02 when horns are introduced in the background. The theme comes full circle when it ends on the two-note melody (G, F#) and fades out with emotion. For those who enjoyed TLOU but missed its soundtrack, give it a try.
