Most of us live in a constant limbo, praying for progress, celebrating when our 3rd graders are finally able to point to their belly button. We pack diaper bags till our kids are well into their 20s (if not longer) that are more full than those for an infant. We are on edge constantly, waiting to diffuse meltdowns over things that we have no control over. We sleep less than we did when we were new moms. Instead of designer handbags, we rock the hell out of those bags under our eyes. Parents move their kids away from ours at the park because of ignorance. Theres no football, baseball, wrestling.. theres OT, ST and IEPs. Even years after our childs been diagnosed we still cry ourselves to sleep over the fear of what will happen to them when were gone. Some of us have battle wounds covering our bodies, from a child that has no control over their own. We would gladly give our last breath to hear them speak a single word... Im not saying to throw us pity parties. With as stressed and tired as we are, we are filled with love and joy because our children help us to appreciate the things in life that really matter.. the bond is unlike anything any of us have experienced, we ARE blessed. JUST dont expect us to have patience with any bull sh*t, all we have goes to those we love. Yes, I know this was long. I dont even care if anyone reads it.. I just needed to vent.
