Jesus Christ was risen. Or he was not. There are only two options. Either he was murdered and truly died, and due to his divinity came back to life; or he did not. I offer no proofs, I give no evidence. That is perhaps for a later time. Right now, I only consider: he did, or he did not. If he did, he is what he claimed to be. The Jewish Messiah; Yeshua HaMashiach. The way, the truth, the life. The One that came to lead his people (the Hebrews) to the fulfillment of the prophesies over the ages. The One that in his grace and love, allowed the Gentiles to also come into right relationship with him. If he was not risen, he is a fraud, a liar, a charlatan that either cynically deluded people to gain power, or actually believed the claims he made, and was therefore insane. If he did not come back to life, his teachings (although nice, moral, good) were at best misleading, and at worst evil. If for this life alone we believe in the risen Christ, we, above all men, are to be most pitied. There are only two choices. He came back to life, or he did not. I have chosen to believe that he did. Many of my friends have chosen to believe that he did not. This is the decision that each of us must make. You can choose to believe that Jesus was a good man, a moral man, a good teacher. But that is not what he claimed, and that is not the crux of the matter. He was murdered, voluntarily laying his life down, and of his own will took it back up again. Or he was murdered, and he stayed dead. This is the main point. In fact it is the ONLY point. Happy Easter, my friends! Happy Easter, my family!
