Jesus in You Often times when we express that we are Followers - TopicsExpress

Jesus in You Often times when we express that we are Followers of the Way, we say to others, “I have Jesus in my heart”, or “I have Jesus living in me.” What does that truly mean to you today? Let me share what I think of when I think of the words…”Jesus in me.” My life is full of “wrong”, and some “rights”. Would I want to be judged for the life that I have lived? Some when asked, “Why should Jesus allow you into heaven?” might say, “Well, I am a good person. I love others, and try to do well. I have lived a moral life.” Have you??? Whose measuring stick are you using? Many people use a measuring stick made with human hearts, and yes, when we compare ourselves to criminals, and murderers, we seem pretty good. But, do we deserve heaven any more than they do? NO The ONLY reason that we deserve heaven at all is because Jesus deserves it, and if you believe in Jesus, if you call on his name, you will be saved. THERE IS NOTHING THAT YOU or I CAN DO TO DESERVE ETERNAL LIFE. IT IS ALL ABOUT WHAT JESUS DID! Acts 2:21 “And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:12-13 “For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for ‘WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.’” There are many “good” people out there headed toward Hell. This is one of the saddest things for me to see. Sometimes it is much easier to reach someone and share the Gospel with someone that has hit rock bottom, than to share with a friend that is a really good person. 2 Corinthians 5:15 “And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again.” There are many “good” people in the world living for themselves. But, Jesus died and rose from the dead so that we might live for Him. Philippians 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.” Marriage is a great witness to others when sharing the Gospel. Think about it…you make a vow to your partner forever. You will be with them through thick and thin. You will love them when they are skinny, fat, sick, well, rich, poor, depressed, happy, sad and angry. Do you know what makes a marriage such a great TESTIMONY? The answer is FORGIVENESS. There are times in my marriage where I have not treasured my wife. There have been seasons of life where I betrayed her trust. There have been times that I have angered her. There have been times that I have let her down. I have been poor, sick, depressed, angry, a liar…you name it. But, I have a wife that mirrors the love of God. She forgives… Can’t we say these same things when we think of our relationship with God? “There are times in my life where I have not treasured God. There have been seasons of life where I betrayed God’s trust. There have been times that I have angered Him. There have been times that I have let Him down.” But, because Jesus lives in me, God chooses to not look at me, He looks at Jesus. He forgives… Who is the great author of Forgiveness? God, who sent His Son, Jesus is. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” What does the phrase “Jesus in you” mean to you? Feel free to post a reply. I look forward to comments… Have a great day Facebook Friends, Bert W.
