Jesus is the answer to sin. Jesus is not the answer to physical illness or mental illness, but of spiritual illness. The power of prayer and principles of godly truth can CERTAINLY help one to be physically healthy, but alas, people still get sick, and old, and die. The power of prayer and principles of godly truth can CERTAINLY help one to be mentally healthy, but alas, people still get mentally sick, and old, and die. We must not confuse physical illness and mental illness with spiritual illness (and death). While they MAY have relation, they are simply not always the same. As recent events put mental illness at the forefront of our societal consciousness, may it be a time of thoughtful reflection on these distinctions. Above all, may we remember to seek help when we need it, and help others as they seek for help for themselves. And may we always seek God first and foremost in our lives.
