Jesus said ;come( Mathew 14:29 and John 6) The event that came b4 this episode in Peter’s life,was of a freightening nature,yet we can learn from it to benefit in our walk of faith.I appreciated that it was the LORD Himself who “made” His disciples to get into a boat and go over the lake to the other side.it was not their daring faith,or adventure for great meeting where thousands had just joined the new congregation ,bread and fish that was miraculously multiplied,had proven to them that indeed this could be the Messiah of Israel.Instead of the Lord urging Peter and the company to register more members to the congregation,He sent the whole company away!Then He made the disciples to cross the lake by the boat-meaning He wanted to be alone with His disciples and everybody. When the storm hit them ,infact against them.Did the Lord know that this would happen?Yes He did,how come He sent His own into that Storm?Because He had a purpose and a lesson to teach them. Now the LORD did not tell them to go to the sea and drown.That is why the boat held on as long as it did,His word holds the storms of life to a limit,they cannot destroy the true believer.The voice of Jesus continued in theirs ears”cross over to other side”that was what they tried doing,He didn’t promise them it would be easy.when their enegy was gone and exhausted-were almost to give in to fate,here comes Jesus Himself walking on the water,the waves and the storm still raging. Peter reacted swiftly.LORD since it ‘s you,command me to come to you,on the same waves,same mad sea,in the same storm,command me,don’t ask me,don’t plead with me,command me,order me,speak a word only,a command that would defy nature,a command that I want to obey absolutely,LORD.I am at Your command,I will put my very life at risk,I will obey and walk on the water to come to You. When Peter heard the word “come”it gave him energy enough to take that fateful step out of the boat and put it on the water,then took the other out of the boat and planted it on the water,the first one held,the second one up,the third step took him closer to Jesus this now what we call Faith. I Learnt that Peter didn’t wait for approval from the rest of the disciples.Peter actually walked on water fixing his eyes on Jesus Christ and went to the Lord.Someone in that might have ridiculed him,he failed,he almost drowned but it was while he was walking on the water not seated safely in the boat called denominations.He believed the word.The word became alive to Him.Wow!iThis glorious to me. I discovered faith is a walk-but not by sight when he started to use his sight(Peter),the bible says that “He saw”the storm threatening(Mathew 14:30).When he walked on the word he succeeded,but when he began to use his senses,he began to sink.This means he didn’t sink but he only began to.To me Peter didn’t make any plunder. God bless you saints-May He reveal Himself to You like Peter.Amen.This are the lessons I learnt.
