Jesus set a universal law into motion when He spoke about the power of agreement. Matthew 18:19 states, “Again I say to you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father, which is in heaven.” In this particular Scripture Jesus uses the word shall three times. Shall is a very strong word in the English language, and the dictionary tells us that it is an archaic word not used much any more. In fact, the word should, most times, replaces the word shall. The definition stated in Webster’s infers that the word shall means that something “must be, will have to, is used to express a command or directive, and it is used to express determination.” According to this definition from Webster’s, two must agree with absolute determination, in order for the Father in heaven, to activate and direct His power for them on the earth. This gives me a greater understanding of the law of agreement. However, there are some hindrances to this powerful law. Multiplication demands unity simply because agreement isn’t possible without unity. To have unity, we must be on the same page with each other. To be on the same page, we must drop our differences. In order to do that, we must know what they are. The Scriptures in Isaiah 11:13, 52:8 tell us that we must stop vexing, and envying each other, and find that place of eye to eye agreement, which can be between two people. I Corinthians 1:10 gives the absolute meaning of agreement. The law of agreement constitutes that we speak the same thing, have no division, perfectly joined, have the same mind, and have the same judgment. Coming into unity actually adds nerve to the courage it takes to wage war against a common enemy. Unity provides stamina to stay in the battle, until it’s over. We are aware that we have many differences, but the question is what we are willing to do about them. The answer has to be that we are willing to put them aside in order to have God’s powerful laws activated in our lives. We must be able to accomplish this with each other at home, before we are capable of lending our agreement to the church. Otherwise, we simply bring our differences with us to the church, and that is a hindrance to the entire body of Christ. We know that every thing in the earth begins as a seed. The Scriptures tell us that as long as the earth remains, there will be seed-time and harvest. Therefore, any time you sow seed for any reason, you gain God’s attention because sowing gives an entrance for God to work for you. Sowing always starts the process that ends in products. When you start a garden, you sow the things you like. If you like peas, corn, tomatoes, and potatoes, those are the things you should sow, however, if you don’t like or need eggplant, then why sow the seed for it.? Likewise, if you need kindness, tenderness, honor, respect, and love, you should sow those things in the lives of other people. God provided a way for us to receive everything we need to live happy, prosperous lives. We sow, to harvest. Sowing in the life of someone else insures a harvest in our own. If we will come together in agreement, as the Spirit of the Lord instructed us to do, then we will sow in the power of agreement, and a rich harvest will be forth coming. Amen.
