Jesus sets the logic of this world on its ear. In the world force responds to force, rejection to rejection, attack to attack and negativity to negativity. It simply escalates the negativity to a new level. Jesus loves in response to hatred, accepts when rejected, turns the other cheek when struck, and is positive when approached with negativity. While this is in contrast to the fallen world, it is actually good for the world. Negativity is turned to positivity, hatred to love, war to peace, and discouragement to hope. But this way is not easy. It is a gift of God that demands a daily choice. The way we respond to that choice is by letting go of the old ego attached self so a new self emptying love driven self to be born again, and we can become the person God made us to be. How will we respond today?
