Jesus speaks to us through the Bible as the eternal Word of God, who became a human being and lived among us. He is the promissed Savior, the Son of God and through our faith in him we may have life. In the Bibles four Gospel books - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, we can read about the life and ministry of Jesus. In the Four Gospel are the things that Jesus did about, teaching in synagogues, preaching the Good News about the coming of the Kingdom of God, eternal life, concern and love for all people, repentance, performing miracles, and healing people who had all kinds of disease and sickness. Below are some of the things that Jesus did: Teachings - Above all other things, Jesus teachs about loving God and caring about all other people as much as we care about ourselves, and... The Most Important Commandment: Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law? Asked one of the Pharisees. And Jesus answered: YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets. Matthew 22:36-40 The Good Samaritan: But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, And who is my neighbor? Jesus replied and said,to him: A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead. And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion, and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him. On the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you. Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers hands? And he said, the one who showed mercy toward him. Then Jesus said to him, Go and do the same. Luke10:29-37 The Lost Sheep: Both the Pharisees and the scribes began to grumble, saying, This man receives sinners and eats with them. So Jesus told them this parable, saying, What man among you, if he has a hundred sheep and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost! I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. Luke 15:2-7 The Prodigal Son: I am dying here with hunger! I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men. So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son. But the father said to his slaves, Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet; and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate; for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found. And they began to celebrate. Luke 15:17-24
