Jesus taught His disciples that growth is a process when He said, - TopicsExpress

Jesus taught His disciples that growth is a process when He said, “First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens,” (Mark 4:28). Nothing good happens overnight. Everything takes time. Don’t allow discouragement into your heart when you feel that you’re not where you need to be. The question to ask yourself isn’t, “Where should I be by now?” The question to ask yourself is, “What is God asking me to do today?” When you approach moving from where you are in little steps, before long you’ll find yourself where you want to be. Take that little extra effort and do what you can today. Don’t punish or condemn yourself for what you didn’t do yesterday. Instead, focus on what you can do today. It’s the steps you take today that will shape your tomorrow into something better than yesterday. It pays to be persistent. All of us desire to be consistent in our lives; we want to read our Bibles daily, or exercise 4 times a week, but when we miss a day or two, don’t let that discourage you. Just pick up where you left off. Focus on what you can do today…instead of regretting what you didn’t do yesterday. Many Blessings!!
