Jesus taught the whole counsel Of God, so Jesus could put a great responsibility on the hearers. Paul also taught the whole counsel, Acts 20:26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. 27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. If a preacher leaves out aspects of the gospel and redefines it to suit his purpose, the responsibility is not solely on the hearer, but now rests more on the preacher. James 3:Dear brothers and sisters,[a] not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly. Why would teachers/preachers be judged more strictly if both teacher and hearer have the same responsibility?
