Jesus, this is Denis OBriens scriptwriter in action. For starters, where did the figure of 50,000 protesters come from? On Saturday Gardai/RTENEWS said 100,000. And independent sources put it much higher. And opposition politicians were struggling to attack the budget? Did SF Mary Lou get thrown out for agreeing with it? For most people this budget is welcomed - its the first in 7 years that hasnt added further taxes. But does anyone think that acquiescence means agreement or support? The welcome for ending seven years of cutbacks does not mean everyone is suddenly happy. Tv3 have got to be in desperate need of OBrien money to come out with a platform like this.
