Jesus was soon leaving the disciples,but his presence will always remain with them. In John 14:15-31,Jesus outlines how his presence will remain with the disciples even when physically he wont be with them.How was this going to be possible? The Advocate-the Spirit of God himself would come after Jesus was gone to care and guide the disciples.During the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit and his power came upon the disciples after Jesus went to heaven,the Holy Spirit is the the very presence of God within you and all saints helping them to live as God wants to building the Christs church on earth.As an Advocate, he is the comforter,encourager or counselor,he is a powerful person working on your behalf and on your side. The Holy Spirit will never leave you,the world cannot receive him.He lives in you,within you,teaching you what you dont know,reminds you the words of Jesus.He convicts you of your sins, shows Gods righteousness and announces Gods judgement on each evil.He will guide you into all the truth and give you insight into the unknown future events.He brings glory to Christ and has been present and active from the the beginning of time but after Pentecost he came to live in believers.Many believers are unaware of the activities of the Holy Spirit but those who hear the words of Christ and understand the Spirits power are given a whole new perspective of life.Jesus promised the disciples that the Holy Spirit would help them remember all that he taught them to ensure the validity of the New Testament.As you study the Bible,you can trust him to plant truth in your mind,convincing you of Gods will and not stray from it.He will also give you deep and everlasting peace which the world cannot give,you have no need to fear the present or future,the peace of God will move into your heart.If your life is full of of stress allow the Holy spirit to fill you with Christs peace.May the Holy Spirit always minister to you.
