Jesus will bring us to trials and weakness so that we may know the joy and intimacy found in being completely dependent on Him. Its amazing how we cry out for prayer and deliverance at the first sign of trouble when its in our weakness we discover His strength and greatness. In my greatest sufferings I have experienced the greatest manifestations of Christs Presence and power in my life. Dont try to run, press in. The following is from the Message, a loose paraphrase and I dont advocate reading it but God can use anything to speak to us and one day He used it to teach me this lesson... “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat—I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self. What good would it do to get everything you want and lose you, the real you? (Luke 9:23-27 MSG) Trials not only turn believers into disciples but also unbelievers into believers. How many have been suffering and cried out, Lord save me! ...and He did! He does! The first time and every time!
