Jet Chick Ginger is an 18 year old mare, that stands at 15.1 hands, and runs consistently in the 3D/4D. If youre looking for a horse that will go your speed and take you to the pay window while youre learning.. This is the horse for you. This mare has NOT had her legs run off. This mare has a lot of heart, and a lot of try, point and go. She is a push style horse. Point and kick. She will run as fast or as slow as you ask. But when you want speed, you have to kick, or she will shut down on you. This mare will not run past a barrel, and if you stay out of her face, she will not knock one either. Hope does not require any injections, but requires shoes if run hard. No navicular, but due to a couple of poor, rushed trims last winter, her angles were screwed up. Our performance farrier believes she will be able to go barefoot once again with several correct trims, and this is already proving to be true, but selling her as needing shoes just in case. We have current xrays on hand. Hope has a SMOOTH walk/trot/lope, a great stop, works of leg, breaks at the poll, collects up nicely, etc. She is very soft in the face and needs a rider with light hands. She is the type of mare you barely need to touch to get a response. She will never run through you. Hope does tend to get hot at the gate. Not an I dont want to hot but a let me do my job hot. Due to this, I would not recommend for an absolute beginner rider. IF you are comfortable with a horse that gets prancy at the gate, and needs a soft hand, you will get along just fine with her. She is not unsafe by any means, but needs someone that will not get nervous or hang on her. No buck, rear, bolt, etc. Hope rides in a slow twisted draw bit or a Jim Warner hack. This is a VERY nice mare for someone looking to learn the ropes before getting a 1D/2D horse. She is finished and solid, but she is no longer being used. She runs poles as well.
