Jewel Dean Abner, age 80 of Hamilton, passed away at her residence on Monday, December 15, 2014. She was born in Hamilton on September 23, 1934 to Wesley and Flora (Helton) South. On November 15, 1951 in Hamilton, she married Harold D. Abner and he preceded her in death on February 2, 2002. She was a member of Hamilton Church of God. She enjoyed playing cards at Partners in Prime for many years. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Karen (Thomas) Couch, Brian (Julie) Abner, and Peggy (Eric) Scott; 8 grandchildren, Kim, Jason, Nathan, Sue, Daniel, Emily, Mallory, Holly; 13 great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kirsten, Landon, Beth, Lexi, Taylor, Ezra, Lincoln, Raquel, Austin, Nathan, Chelsea, and Jayden; and one great-great granddaughter, Quinnlyn; one brother, Ellis (Audrey) South; and many neices, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, June Ketterer; her daughter Linda Sue Davis; and her grandson Christopher French. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 2PM with Pastor Alan Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 1Pm-2PM at the funeral home.
