Jews still, TODAY, offer up the Temple sacrifices, but do so - TopicsExpress

Jews still, TODAY, offer up the Temple sacrifices, but do so symbolically. Just as there were five types of sacrifice, there are five books of the Torah. When a person studies Bereshit (Genesis), it is as though that person had offered a burnt offering (the olah sacrifice). The Book of Shemot (Exodus) represents the offering of the meal sacrifice (the minchah sacrifice). The Book of Vayikrah (Leviticus) represents the sin offering (the chatath). The Book of Bmidbar (Numbers) represents the guilt offering (the asham). And the Book of Debarim (Deuteronomy) represents the peace offering (the shelamim). When a person seriously studies all five books, it is as though that person had offered up ALL of the sacrifices.
