Jihad In Canada ~ Gary Bauer There is breaking news today of multiple shootings in Ottawa, Canada. A Canadian soldier standing guard at the National War Memorial was shot and reportedly killed. Canadas National War Memorial is a significant site. A shooting there would be comparable to one here at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. Gunfire erupted inside the Canadian Parliament building and there are unconfirmed reports of shots fired at other nearby locations. One gunman is dead and police are searching the area for additional suspects. On Monday, Martin Couture-Rouleau used his car as a weapon to rundown two Canadian soldiers who left a veterans support center in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. One soldier was killed. Couture-Rouleau was killed by police after he flipped his car, got out and charged them with a knife. In two days, three Canadian soldiers have been attacked at places where the attackers knew soldiers would be. As you know ISIS has called on Western jihadists to attack soldiers wherever they can find them -- even to show up [at their homes] and slaughter them. We know beyond any doubt that Couture-Rouleau was a radical Islamist. He was one of 90 people on the Canadian governments watch list and had tried to travel to Syria to fight for ISIS. But the Canadian government suspended his passport. So he answered the call to wage jihad in Canada. Based on what we know so far about todays shootings in Ottawa, it seems likely that the attack on the soldier at the National War Memorial was also an act of jihad. By the way, Nobel Peace Prize co-winner Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager who survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban, was to be honored in Toronto today by Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
