Jim BectonApostolic Teaching Fathers! 19 hrs · Edited · One of the purposes of this forum is to challenge us to continually be stretched without dwelling on the negatives or whats wrong with the church, etc!! The kingdom and the church are not one and the same, but when the true church of Jesus Christ comes under the sovereign rule of Christ, its becomes the embassy and the domain of the kingdom! So, heres a thought for the current pastoral system of the local assemblies: Are our services on Sunday morning and Wednesday night entertaining the saints or are we equipping the saints? (equipping- setting in place, like a bone that has been out of place or dislocated, maturing them, preparing them, and training them for ministry, or serving.) Are we running our assembly like a business, competing with other groups, seeing the facilities, the finances, and the facade as a sign of our success, and being exclusive as in a social club, basing growth and maturity in how well the people attend, support, and serve our programs? Or, can the equipping ministries facilitate growth and maturity in the saints from a kingdom perspective, serving as sons and growing like a family? There is a difference between having services so the people can hear our sermons, and coming together to not only declare and bring information, but to activate and bring impartation?!? To activate and impart is to release what Father has given us and then allow the sons and daughters time to grow and expand the kingdom in their lives, occupations, fields of study, and doing what they are hearing? Food for thought...
