Jim Evans For Congress news-leader/comments/article/20130815/NEWS01/308150049/Roy-Blunt-gas-prices-study This story needs the same kind of quality journalism that accompanied the "Billy-Long-food-stamp-fraud story" and the "City Utilities Coal Ash story." The late winter spike in gas prices was historically unique and therefore unlikely caused by the perennial blend switch. Since the correlation between the gas price spike and the blend switch was an anomaly the blend switch can be eliminated as the cause. This rudimentary logic suggests that Roy Blunt is either logically impaired or has a political agenda. If we consider three other bits of information Blunts objectives come into perspective. 1. The late winter spike in gas prices was explained by coincidental refinery maintenance work (i.e. petroleum industry decisions). The spike ended on March 22 immediately after the Senate approved the Keystone pipeline. 2. Roy Blunt is on record of opposing environmental regulations that protect air and water quality for American citizens. For Roy, the corporate economy takes precedence over peoples’ health. 3. Roy Blunt receives large campaign contributions from the oil industry.
