Jim Jersild...the diagnosis of my hand pain has been made, and surgery is scheduled..for me! Osteoarthritis of the CMC joint in the thumb..very similar to what Jim went through...they remove the joint in the thumb and reattach the two ends of the bone using a graft of a tendon looped around somehow...I have ZERO cartilage in that joint, its bone-on-bone, which is why the pain is so severe. The surgeon will fix the carpal tunnel on that hand at the same time...the other hand a few months after. The only problem was scheduling it around Mikes hip repl surgery in January! First avail date that works--March 6th! Its hell getting old!!
