Jim Moran, retiring Congressman from Northern Virginia today in an interview on CNBC today said that most Americans would be outraged at how underpaid members of Congress are. Really???? Here are the facts: members of Congress are paid $174,500 per year (plus benefits and perks -staff, offices, etc... ). Congress is in session 113 days per year. If you are fortunate enough to get re-elected a few times and retire, you receive a generous retirement, the likes of which many of us will never see. There are 534 members of Congress. 268 are millionaires. Avg net worth of Democrats-$1.04 million. Avg net worth of Republicans-$1.0 million. Jim Moran-not only are you a loathsome anti-Semite but you are a jackass. Glad you will no longer pollute the halls of Congress with your special brand of stupidity!
