Pay at the desk. What happens in the sessions? Through directed play, children from the ages of 0 to 3 years old, will be involved in theme-based activities such as the farm, space, the seaside, animals and many more. Children will learn basic movement such as rolling, jumping, skipping, balancing, throwing, and catching; through dance, song and supervised activities, using a variety of equipment designed to inspire and challenge. Each session is structured and begins with waking Jimmy Bear, saying Hello to him and each other. This is followed by songs with actions designed to warm up the body and get everyone ready to start. The coach will introduce the skills to be focused on for the session before offering the children the opportunity to try out new skills on equipment such as foam shaped mats, benches, climbing structures, balls and bats, etc. Parents are encouraged to remain involved throughout the session, assisting their children in practicing the new skills and getting as much out of the sessions as possible. The coach will spend time explaining to the parents the aim of the skills being practiced and how to help their child succeed in their efforts. The session ends with cool down activities and songs, games with a parachute and saying Goodbye to Jimmy Bear. Each child is given a Jimmy Bear Pack with an attendance record. This is to be presented to the coach at each session. There are awards given when certain mileposts are achieved in attendance. What shall we wear/bring? It is advisable, for children and their parents, to wear comfortable, flexible clothing suitable for physical activity. Trainers or bare feet are most suitable options for the feet. (Socks alone will be too slippery). Bring your attendance record, perhaps a drink and snack for after the session, and lots of energy and enthusiasm.
