Jimmy Boyd Free Play Los Angeles Angels -104 The Angels are showing great value in what I feel will be a difficult spot for the Rays. Tampa Bay has been scratching and clawing their way back into the playoff picture, but were dealt a big blow when the organization decided to trade away their ace David Price. I think that could have a real negative effect on this team. Tampa Bay will send out Jeremy Hellickson, who is making just his 3rd start of the season since returning from an elbow injury. Hellickson has pitched well in his first 2 starts, but hes yet to make it past the 5th inning. Ill take my chances that the Angels can get a 1-2 runs early and add on late, which should be enough to bring home a win behind Matt Shoemaker. In his last 3 starts, Shoemaker has a 2.89 ERA and 0.964 WHIP and is coming off arguably the best start of the season. He allowed just 3 hits with no walks over 7 shutout innings against the Tigers. Its also worth noting that Shoemaker limited the Rays to just 1 run on 2 hits over 6 innings back on May 18. Los Angeles is 31-11 this season when playing against a team with a losing record and are 15-5 in their last 20 road games after scoring 3 runs or less in 2 straight games. Home teams when the money line is +125 to -125 who are a marginal losing team (46% to 49%) playing a winning team are just 21-53 in the month of August over the last 5 seasons. Thats a 72% system in favor of the Angels. Monitored at the Sports Watch Monitor
