Jimmy Holbrook reported, Gas prices still hover around $3.50 a gallon in Chattooga County while prices this past week were much lower in surrounding areas. According to Gas Buddy the lowest price for regular unleaded gas in Chattooga County at the end of the week was at the Kangaroo on the Lyerly Highway at $3.48 per gallon. Meanwhile at the Murphy gas station at Wal-Mart in Centre, Alabama gas was $3.15 a gallon and in Fort Payne gas was $3.22 a gallon at Wal-Mart and Bruce’s Food Land. Gas in Chattanooga was $3.03 at Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart. Gas prices are predicted to fall even further over the next few weeks, but how far they will fall in Chattooga County remains to be seen.
